Retention Pond Settlement areas. Over the years we have notice and been made aware of settlement areas around the pond. We contracted with our landscaper to investigate. What has been determined is that the area around the retention pond was infilled with debris and stumps very similar to what was under the basketball court by the developer when Tall Oaks was built. We are working with the developer to have this bad soil removed and replaced in hopes to fix the situation

Fountain
. Due to the settlement issues the power to the fountain has been damaged during removal. We are working with our landscaper and an electrical contractor to get this fixed. The fountain provides water movement to the Retention Pond to help relieve the smell that happens in the hot summer months. As soon as we get this back working we will let you know.

Retention Pond
. First we want to make everyone aware both new members to our community and those that have been with us for awhile. The Retention Pond in the lower level is just that, a retention pond. It is not a wildlife pond even though there are fish and frogs, etc that live there. This was built when the development went in to capture the rain water run off and then allow a controlled release of the water. Most all developments both commercial and residential are required to have these. We have to provide a place for the rain water to go since there are houses and roads where open natural areas used to be. We cannot fill this in or it will cause extreme flooding and run off in our neighborhood and others. We contract with a company yearly that tests the water for any issues and applies chemicals as required by the state to maintain retention ponds. We have received your notices of dead animals and have requested additional information from Forest Pond to see what the cause is.
